IF THE SHOE DOESN'T FIT, DON'T WEAR IT

There are times when we want to do things our own way because we feel that the way of God is not happening the way that we want it. However, we should not underplay the sovereignty of God. Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! "For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?" "Or who has first given to Him and it shall be repaid to him?" For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen (Romans 11:33-36).
A young man wanted to go for a job interview at all cost. he had to go! he had stayed at home for ever and this was his chance to earn some money. He was so excited for the D-day. Unfortunately, on the D-day his shoe couldn’t fit. He tried and tried, his shoe couldn’t fit and that was the only shoe he had. Oh! No! it was such a huge disappointment. Sadly, he couldn’t go. The next day, he received the news that the company he was due to attend the interview had an unfortunate disaster. The roof caved in and everybody who was there at the time of the interview died. Sometimes, when things are not happening the way we want it, he is preventing something disastrous from happening. He is saving our lives!
Christianity is a lifestyle with Christ. Christianity is not a means of achieving our bucket list and it is not a means of achieving our goal. However, whatever you want you may ask God in prayer and he answers your prayer according to his will (Philippians 4).  When one is a Christian, there is a need to be totally submissive to God for his will to be done. We see things in a different way and we act accordingly but whatever happens to you as a Christian, you keep on holding on to Christ and your faith is built in Christ that whatever happens to you, God is good. He is the one driving, not you. He sees the final picture that you don't see. God is sovereign; allow his sovereignty over your life.

SUBMISSION IN MARRIAGES

Submission stems out of mutual love and understanding for each other.  As a Christian, love should drive you. A Pharisee asked Jesus: Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law? Jesus replied: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. (Matthew 22: 36-39). Love is putting other people’s needs above yours unconditionally.  A Christian lady I met told me, my husband is so disrespectful to me, and how does he expect me to submit. The answer was pretty simple; submission should not be based on what he fails or fails not to do. Submission should be based on God’s word and know that as you are submitting to him, you are submitting to Christ. It is a requirement for you as a wife, to place the word of God first in your marriage. Submission and love works hand in hand. As you are submitting to your husband, he in turn will love you so much and you will be heirs together to the grace of life. If a wife submits to her husband and the husband loves the wife, marriage will be a blissful union with no turning back.

Pride goes before a fall

Every leader’s goal is to focus on Christ to make an impact in people’s life to the glory of God in order to magnify him. However, these days, most leaders' aim is to chase after social status and recognition from people.  For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.  Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things (Philippians 3:18-19).
Furthermore, most leads compare their ministry to others and it breeds unhealthy competition forgetting that everyone has a distinct gift that God has deposited in him or her. For instance, Ministry A is organizing a church program and church attendance is low. He or she begins to compare his or her ministry to Ministry B. He or she then forces his or her church members to do things that they normally will not do to outperform the other Ministry. Christianity is never forcing people to do things out of their own will but rather freedom of worship in Christ Jesus. It is a wrong misconception that people have that the larger your congregation or building, the greater your ministry. Your ministry is greater when you have humbled yourself under God’s hands to serve others and he has used you to impact lives. Christ is our role model, we are supposed to imitate Christ and follow in his exemplary life.

BE YE THANKFUL

When the ten lepers were healed, it was only one leper a Samaritan who came back to thank Jesus. Jesus asked him were not all ten healed, where was the other nine? (Luke 17:11-19). Jesus wants us to thank him at all times irrespective of our circumstances. Most times we think that God is supposed to do things for us, so he does not need any appreciation from us. It is in the will of God to thank Him in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18). When we thank him, he is pleased with us and we are in His will. When we do things according to His will, He always comes through for us.
